What the savings and spending warnings mean
Each warning about savings, spending or care, and what the plan did about it.
A warning says what the plan did with something it could not take as given. It never stops the projection.
- Missing care rule — Where Landfall lacks a care figure or rule for the person’s nation, the warning says what it did instead.
- Lump sum beyond the ISA — What the ISA allowance cannot take that year is saved the way a surplus is.
- Cash ISA at its limit — Surplus into a cash ISA stops at that year’s limit, the rest going on to the next pot.
- Surplus with nowhere to go — Surplus goes only into a cash, ISA or taxable pot. With none, it is left out.
- No phase at retirement — No spending phase covers retirement’s first year, so no yearly spending is planned for it.
- ISA top-up beyond the allowance — A top-up from savings moves only what the year’s ISA allowance has room for.
- Plan to age already reached — A person whose “Plan to age” was reached before the plan starts is planned for its first year only. The warning names the lowest age the plan can run to.
