A way of planning
Build it rough, find the weak point, test it, decide, and come back each year.
Landfall is built around one way of working. It is not the only one, and nothing in the app depends on following it.
- Build it rough. A plan from remembered figures shows the shape, and the shape tells you which figures are worth getting right.
- Find the weak point. The verdict says whether the money lasts, and the funding chart shows which years draw hardest on the pots.
- Test it against bad years. The stress test replays the plan through markets that vary, and the crash scenario applies one bad run from a year you choose.
- Try each alternative as a plan of its own. Retiring later, spending less or drawing in another order each becomes a copy, and Compare puts a figure on the difference.
- Write down what you would do. The intentions record holds your own answer to a bad year, in your words, before you need it.
- Come back after each tax year ends. Logging the year that has gone lets the plan carry on from what happened rather than from the guess.
A method organises the questions. The answers about your own money are yours, and an adviser can help you reach them.
